2 years & up. Ramp and Roll Discovery Blocks invite children to turn a collection of oversized foam pieces into their own ball runs. The 48-piece set includes 40 building pieces and eight balls. Slopes, chutes, and holes create routes for the balls, and the pieces can be rearranged to make a new design whenever children are ready to test another idea.
Each ball has a different color and weight. Children can release a ball, watch its path, and wonder what might happen after they move a block or change a slope. Those repeated build-and-test experiences offer an accessible introduction to basic physics relationships and STEM thinking. Handling and positioning the large pieces also invites gross and fine motor practice. An educator might ask children to predict which route a ball will take, then help them notice what changed after a rebuild.
The foam pieces are easy to clean. The smallest measures 5.5"L x 5.5"H x 2.75"D, and the largest measures 22"L x 5.5"H x 2.75"D. These measurements can help educators plan room for construction and rolling experiments.
