18 months & up. Make early numbers tangible with the Magnetic Wood Cookie Counters. The 21 nature-inspired pieces are marked 0 through 20, giving children a concrete collection to place, count, arrange, and revisit as they become familiar with numerals and numerical order.
Each faux wood counter has black magnetic backing for convenient use on blackboards or whiteboards. An educator can invite children to find a number, put several counters in sequence, or compare which numeral comes next. These open-ended activities offer opportunities to practice counting, number recognition, and seriation while children handle and reposition the pieces.
The counters are made in part with Poly+, a composite material made from 30% less plastic, and are designed for indoor and outdoor numeracy activities. Each counter measures 2" in diameter x 0.5"H. The magnetic backs let educators bring the same number set to an appropriate magnetic teaching surface; a board is not listed as part of the set.
