Buttons, zippers, snaps, and hook-and-loop closures offer several ways to practice dressing and fine motor skills. Children can investigate how each closure works, try fastening and unfastening it, and return to a tricky step as often as they like. An educator can invite children to name the fasteners, compare the motions they use, or help a classmate prepare for a pretend outing. These are optional play invitations, not extra pieces included with the set.
